A masked monk

A masked monk at a tsechu

We have been visiting Bhutan and designing Bhutan holidays for many years

Bhutan has opened its doors just a crack and a few lucky tourists, with approved itineraries, can  now experience something unique and extremely valuable…a country emerging slowly from the cocoon of its own past, steeped in religion and still wrapped tightly in tradition.

Step back in time as you wonder through the streets of Thimpu, Punakha and Paro. Breathe pure Himalayan mountain air, and touch the soul of Bhutan at a ‘tsechu’ (religious festival that involves the whole community).

You can also enjoy a wide range and variety of accommodation, from simple mountain retreats to genuine 5* luxury

Far Shangrila tour a wonderful experience

The Far Shangrila tour was a truly wonderful experience. Neither of us could believe the detail involved in the way that we were looked after or the quality of the experiences......it was so much over and above our expectations.
