India, how we love it….

It is all here, all the thoughts and dreams we have of Indian holidays and adventures; the Taj Mahal at Agra, the tigers of Ranthambore, the erotic temple carvings of Khajuraho, the tea estates of Assam, the tranquillity of the Kerala backwaters, the faded Mughal majesty of Fatepur Sikri and Orccha.

Ride the mountain railways to visit the remnants of the Raj in the hill stations of Shimla and Darjeeling. Relax and rejuvenate in the luxurious forts and palaces of the Maharajahs of Rajasthan, mix with the masses in Mumbai and visit eternal Varanasi where Holy Mother Ganga cleanses the soul.

Luxuriate in some of the world’s best hotels such as: The Imperial in Delhi, the Oberoi Grand in Kolkata, Devigarh in the Aravali Hills, the iconic Taj Lake Palace Hotel in Udaipur and Samode Palace, Jaipur.

Alternatively, try a tree-house, or how about a houseboat?

Fabulous holiday in India

Dear Graham and Steve

Many thanks for organising our holiday to Kerala and Tamil Nadu - We had the most fantastic time.

The hotels you suggested were wonderful with great hospitality, outstanding accommodation and delicious food. We came back well rested, enlightened and using an extra notch on our belts because the food was so varied and so good. This all fitted seamlessly together with our visit to our friends in Kodaikanal.

We loved the CGH Earth hotels - and their different characteristics.
Particular highlights were our day trip on the houseboat from Coconut Lagoon. As we love bird watching and eating this combined both. Our little house boat was perfect for navigating down the smaller canals and we loved seeing the houses perched on the banks.

We also loved our stay a Marari Villas. Graham, you probably remember Neil's quite specific requirements; he wanted a villa overlooking the sea so that if the monsoon came we could sit on the khonde reading, drinking tea and watching the rain move across the sea. Bougainvillea, our villa was perfect - though the monsoon never showed up and we spent a lot of time in the sea, reading or walking up and down the beach. We even went out on Santosh the watchman's, fishing boat - like a floating mattress made of polystyrene. The staff - George, Abilash, Ancy, Santosh and Reena were lovely and helpful.

We would definitely use Ellison Roberts again if we return to the that part of the world.
Many thanks for all your help and expert advice. We had a really great holiday.

Golden triangle and Kerala - a very hard package to beat

My wife wanted to visit the Golden Triangle and I wanted to visit Kerala so the Ellison Roberts Golden Triangle with Kerala itinerary was a perfect fit. This was to be the "holiday of a lifetime" and I can honestly say that it exceeded both our hopes and expectations. The planning was outstanding and at every point the local drivers and guides were outstanding and all the hotels were wonderful.

The visit to Elefantastic at Jaipur will remain a highlight, particularly for my wife, and a memory that will remain with us for years to come. The organisation there seems to be spot on and the elephants really well looked after.

I feel that I have to say just a little more about our two drivers as failure in that department could have completely changed the enjoyment of the holiday. Both were excellent and the cars comfortable. How they cope with that traffic, particularly in the North, must be a cultural thing. It should be and could be chaos but somehow it all works.

We've been talking constantly about our wonderful holiday in India and have cautiously started thinking about going again and where we should visit next. If and when this happens we will certainly be looking at what Ellison Roberts has to offer us as the completeness of the programme we enjoyed, together with the flexibility to change things to our wishes, makes it a very hard package to beat.

Wonderful experience in North India

Maureen and I have had a wonderful experience during the past 2 weeks where we have been treated almost as royalty at times and more generally have been made to feel as wanted guests and fussed over. All the hotels you chose were very, very good, their sleeping accommodation near to perfect and the food excellent. Before going, we should admit to being a little concerned about the food side of things and the water quality but we needn't have worried as neither of us have felt at all queasy and have enjoyed eating. The guides have all been first class, well versed in their subjects and happy to answer questions that sometimes were a bit off the point but that didn't seem to phase them. Similarly the drivers were great and please pass on our thanks to all your staff at both ends of the organisation.

Brilliant - Loved every minute

Just to let you know, the whole trip went as smooth as silk. Your agents out there were brilliant, contacting us almost every evening to see if things were OK. The two drivers we had were experts and could not do enough for us and all the guides were very knowledgeable and professional. Your message about our "golden wedding" seemed to have spread around to everybody. Every stay made a point of congratulating us on our arrival and then we were presented with a total of six cakes with candles and the staff all joining in the celebrations.

Each stay was terrific in it's own way but we think for us the Orange County stole the show with excellent food and luxury accommodation with the added game trips of course, well worth having the extension to the standard trip. Regretfully we only had a fleeting glance of a tiger and a leopard, but saw an abundance of other animals & birds.

This was our third trip to India and as previously we loved every minute so hopefully we will be aiming for a fourth trip to a different area sometime in the future. When that time comes we will be in touch with you again. Many thanks for all your help

India trip

Thank you for organising what turned out to be a wonderful holiday. We think probably the best of our three trips to India. We were very happy with all the hotels, particularly Laika in Bangalore, Visalam and Maison Perumal. The pace of the tour was just right and your agents were very well organised and attentive. Overall we were delighted with the whole holiday and it completely fulfilled our hopes and expectations.

Amazing Kerala holiday

I have to say that the service was flawless, from how we were initially greeted at the airport to every arrival at our ongoing destinations. Our driver was brilliant and the arrangements made were without any issues, we were very impressed at your attention to detail in terms of organising our holiday and it added to a truly unforgettable experience. Our highlight had to be staying at the Spice Village in Thekkady and visiting the Tiger Reserve at Periyar, not to mention cruising the backwaters. It was so special that on Xmas day I asked Marie to be my wife! (she said yes). A truly great experience and I was constantly recommending you to other visitors who didn't quite have the touches to their itinerary that we did. An immense thank you to all involved.
