Sri Lanka is a tear-shaped island in the Indian Ocean located to the South and East of the Indian subcontinent. The total land area is around 25,000 sq. miles with a length of 276 miles and breadth of 140 miles. In the lowlands the climate is typically tropical. At the higher elevations it can be quite cool at an altitude of nearly 6,500 feet.

Sri Lanka is a year round holiday destination – there is always a good time to visit at least some part of the country. The period from November to April is the driest season on the south west coast and up in the hills. Here, some of the best beaches and many other places of tourist interest are located and this period is considered as the “tourist season”. May to September is the best time to discover the many unspoilt attractions of the east coast

Seductive beaches and magnificently varied landscapes feature lazy lagoons, fertile wetlands, ecologically-wondrous types of forest, imposing mountains, rushing rivers and waterfalls. Besides realxing on the beach there is no shortage of things to see and do. There is an abundance of wildlife in some unique ecosystems. 8 World Heritage sites encompass ancient cities, temples and colonial forts. A vibrant culture includes fine arts, crafts and grand festivals, and a people of diverse ethnicity and religious persuasion, charming and hospitable, will welcome you with a smile.

The humidity, cool temperatures, and rainfall in the country’s central highlands provide a climate that favours the production of high quality tea.The country is the world’s fourth largest producer of tea

Fabulous Sri Lanka & Maldives holiday

Back safely and missing it already. We had a fabulous holiday in both destinations.

The sight seeing destinations in Sri Lanka were a good choice: SigIrlya Rock was tough going but worth the effort.Polonnaruwa
Dambulla and Kandy were also very interesting. The train trip to Nuwara Eliya was also worthwhile and the scenery was amazing.

Jetwing Vil Uyana was brilliant as was Kandy House. Jetwing Beach was ok for a stop over and has a very good a la carte restaurant. The food in the hotels was excellent and our driver very knowledgeable.

Lux Maldives was even better than we hoped. A fantastic resort with great people and restaurants. It is a larger atoll but provides a great choice for eating and drinking.

We would like to thank Ellison Roberts for organising an amazing holiday - one we will always remember.

Terrific Sri Lanka trip

We’re still recovering from the shock of returning to temperatures 30C less than Galle! It was a terrific trip to Sri Lanka and the accommodation was excellent throughout. Kandy House was an oasis and both the food and staff were excellent. But the highlight must be the Tea Trails bungalow: We loved everything about it – location, staff, food and climate. We were glad we stayed four nights.

The 19 day itinerary proved to be a good balance of sightseeing, wildlife and a bit of relaxation. We got on really well with our driver/guide who gave us five star plus attention, was a very safe driver, and an informative guide to Sri Lankan history, politics and way of life.

Fantastic Sri Lanka and Maldives Honeymoon

I cannot thank you enough for all your help in organising our honeymoon. It was wonderful we really enjoyed every moment. The hotels in Sri Lanka were all lovely and the honeymoon suite, food and service in the Adaraan Vadoo in Maldives was brilliant - I highly recommend it for future clients.

Thanks again for everything,

Cathy and Heikki

Sri Lanka trip a huge success

The trip was a huge success without any problem. All the hotels, we thought, were pretty good with Kandy House and Tea Trails being exceptional. I should have been a Tea Planter !! We have all stayed in highly rated five star hotels around the world but for me, Tea Trails was one of the very best places I have stayed. For atmosphere, service, food, character and location it was tops. Perhaps our preference for small boutique hotels had a lot to do with it. Thanks for all your help on organising this trip.

Great introduction to Sri Lanka

We had a brilliant trip! The itinerary was excellent - we felt we had a great introduction to Sri Lanka - people, culture, history and wildlife.
We were very lucky and saw some pretty rare animals including a Sloth Bear.

Our guide for the trip, Dilan, was excellent - good driver, very thoughtful about what we were interested in and very knowledgeable not only about the history and culture but also the wildlife.

The hotels were all very good and the food on offer excellent - apart from Rangalla House where the food was exceptionally good !

Sri Lanka holiday

I wanted to drop you a line to advise how much we enjoyed our visit to Sri Lanka. An absolutely fascinating country, clearly poor in many ways but the people are very smiley and those we met throughout our visit quite charming. Thank you for all your expert advice and detailed planning – we had a great time.

The holiday was fantastic!

All the arrangements went smoothly - our driver/site guide was extremely courteous and had a deep knowledge of the sites and history of the country. The hotels were all first rate, with superb accommodation, food and service - it is difficult to rank them - but we must mention Kandy House and The Fortress in particular - wonderful. We recommended you to several travellers during the course of our journey. We also met six of your clients who were also having a good experience. Thanks again for all your help in putting the trip together. PS We saw three leopards at Yala!!
